B. Docktor: bio
B. Docktor is known for being a long-time documenter of our region—not just the beauty of our landscape, but also of our people, our farms, our animals, our towns, our celebrations.
“I grew up adoring Life Magazine. My father was an illustrator who used photography in his work, so I was hanging out in the darkroom when I was just four years old. I’ve always aspired to make images that make you stop and say, —Wow, I feel like I was there! In addition to making images of nature and our glorious region, I love to photograph people and pets, weddings and family gatherings. Whatever I’m photographing, I’m always looking for that kernel of magnificence, that essential moment, that just right composition. The joy is in seeing the beauty and getting to share it with you.”
